Vintage Additions
We went to the beautiful Pylewell Park in Hampshire for our Summer 2026 Royal Ascot Hat photoshoot
and Alice Hare took inspiration from Annabel's archive additions to our hats and created some stand out looks.
Ernest's Ripple is a Clotted Cream straw hand blocked percher with vintage Ernest Gelbard cream flowers, which we painted Peonie Red in our Atelier.
A Season show stopper from Alice as she creates a fabulous contemporary look from the exquisite Ernest’s Ripple with its hand painted vintage flowers and a silk moire raspberry suit from Cherubina, Tusting handbag with V V Rouleaux key tassel, and Soru Jewellery earings.
Rose Valois is a Clotted Cream Ballet Pink Ernest Gelbard vintage folded rolled organdy hat. We have added vintage Ernest Gelbard rolled edge petals and roses from 1940's in Ballet Pink, and then painted the tips in our Atelier. A naming nod to the great French milliners.
On the lawns of Pylewell Park, at our Summer 2026 Royal Ascot Hat Campaign, Alice styled a signature oversized collar dress from Lisa Redman with our very special Rose Valois, and added Soru Jewellery earrings and an elegant Tusting handbag.
Ernest Knightsbridge Bow is a Clotted Cream and Pale Plum organdy Ernest Gelbard vintage hat. We added hand painted flowers in Pale Plum and a giant watermarked taffeta bow.
Alice brilliantly creates a signature soft n' sharp look with V V Chapeaux Ernest's Knightsbridge Bow and a Holland Cooper Pink Pinstripe Trouser Suit, adding a necklace and earrings from Cherie Jewels, and an Isla de Gar bag.
Ernest's Wedding Wave is a Clotted Cream small sinamay side wave with vintage Ernest Gelbard flowers which we have painted in Pale Lobelia.
English garden party meets Italian elegance as Alice gives us a chic retro look with Ernest’s Wedding Wave and a Lunatica Milano skirt from our neighbours Ella Boutique in Marylebone Lane. The body suit is from the IQ Collection, with earrings from Soru Jewellery, bag from After The Flowers, and shoes from Gina. The little VVR touch is the Periwinkle double sided velvet and brooch as a choker.
A Madge Delight is percher covered by vintage Ernest Gelbard petals with three veiled dotted bows. A naming nod to our inspiration Madge Chard!
For this whitty V V Chapeaux take on our favourite milliner Madge Chard's inspirations, Alice chose a beautiful Suzannah London dress in dusty blue, earrings by Soru Jewellery, and an Asos metallic scallop shape clutch - showstopping all round on our Royal Ascot Hat Campaign at Pylewell Park.
Paulette's Posy is a Primrose old straw hand blocked percher with vintage petals and flowers. A naming nod to Madame Paulette - Paris Milliner Extraordinaire.
In classic racing colours Alice whips up a beautifully simply look with a pink cloqué dress from Suzannah, Emerald Iris handbag from Launer London, and matching shoes from Gina. Crowned with the V V Chapeaux vintage Paulette's Posy and stunning pearl flower earrings from Cherie Jewels.
Corbeville Straw is a Clotted Cream old straw hand blocked side percher with exquisite Clotted Cream vintage leaves, and petals with pearl stamen centres. A naming nod to the chateau of Jacques Fath.
Alice feels Alessandra Rich’s unique ability to unite the prim and the rebellious is exemplified by this dress with its ‘80s-style puff sleeves and a hyper-feminine oversized bow, masterfully balanced by a keyhole cutout. Pearl floral earrings by Chérie Jewels reflect the pearl centres of the flowers on the hat, while a handmade bag by Isla de Gar is a tactile finishing touch. V V Chapeaux provide the perfect foil with Corbeville Straw.
Ernest's Rouleaux is a Pale Azalea and White Ernest Gelbard vintage 1950's hat , with rolled petals and ribbons with hand painted touches, and Pale Azalea veiling.
Perfect for our 2026 Royal Ascot Hat Campaign at the beautiful Pylewell Park, Alice chose to match our vintage Ernest’s Rouleaux with a soft ivory dress from Clare Mischevani, flower earrings from Cherie Jewels, and a Blossom Clara handbag from Tusting to which we add some V V Rouleaux tassel fun!
Tumbling Lily is a Blue Grass old straw blocked Jackie O percher with a waterfall of vintage two tone White and Spring Green tumbling Lily of the Valley, vintage hand rolled organdy and petals in white tipped in our Atelier with hand painted edges.
Alice says yes! - you can wear tweed in the summer and goes all out Austin Powers with this orange lightweight boucle jumpsuit by Me+Em. A statement belt by Sonia Petroff featuring gobstopper cabochons in the same turquoise as V V Chapeaux Tumbling Lily, a Lalage Beaumont handbag, and matching Soru earrings complete the 70’s vibe. Gold mules by Florrie and the gold hardware of the bag and belt are picked up by the V V Rouleaux tassel and flower brooch.
We were very lucky to shoot this campaign at Pylewell Park, a superb country house wedding and events venue.
