Hot summer looks with a little V V shade
We went to the beautiful Pylewell Park in Hampshire for our Summer 2026 Royal Ascot Hat photoshoot
and on a hot summer's day Alice Hare chose some hats with a little shade.
Claudine Bow is a Clotted Cream sinamay saucer with Rose Blush woven rafia edging and topped with a giant bow. A naming nod to the wonderful 1940's French fashion magazine Claudine.
Alice chose a silk polka dot dress from Beulah, earrings from Grainne Morton, shoes from Florrie London and a Isla de Gar bag to compliment the Claudine Bow.
Cristóbal's Emerald Swirl is a Clotted Cream sinamay saucer, edged with wide Emerald dot crin and finished with Emerald crin in swirling bows. A naming nod to The Master.
A sweep and a swirl as Alice pairs V V Chapeaux Cristóbal's Emerald Swirl and Claire Mischevani’s Emerald Margreta dress, with flashes of pink from a Lalage Beaumont bag, shoes by Gina and earrings from Pat’s by Patricia Cobiella.
Shimmering Enthusiasme is Clotted Cream buntal straw saucer with Ripe Wheat shimmering crin, a Barley Dust daisy trim and hand cut Barley Dust spikey flowers. A naming nod to Jacques Griffe, the forgotten master of French couture.
A classic summer look for the Season, Alice loved the shade of the V V Shimmering Enthousiasme with the bold flower print of this Cherubina dress with a belt from Sonia Petroff, a matching bag from Tusting, and earrings from Soru Jewellery.
The Lace Bar is a Clotted Cream sinamay saucer with Black delicate pin lace, vintage Black lace roses, and hand cut spikey feathers - inspired by Dior's New Look Bar suit of 1947.
A classic Royal Ascot look from Alice as she compliments The Lace Bar with an oversized collar dress from Lisa Redman, Soru Jewellery earrings and an elegant Tusting handbag.
Paulette's Wave is a White sinamay side wave with multi vintage petals and flowers from the 1940's and 50's. A naming nod to Madame Paulette - Paris Milliner Extraordinaire.
With vintage petals and flowers from Annabel’s archives nestling in the fold of our Paulette’s Wave, Alice chose a stunning Topaz wool suit from Lalage Beaumont, jazzed up a Tusting bag with matching V V Rouleaux key tassels, and shoes from Gina.
Ascot Pearls is a Black sinamay saucer with delicate pin lace in White and vintage pearl bows with pearl and lily petal sprays.
A classic Black and White look devised by Alice with a Beulah dress, earrings from Pat’s by Patricia Cobiella, and shoes by Florrie London topped off with our Ascot Pearls.
Lilly's Blush is a Rose Blush sinamay wave side saucer with vintage Rose Blush Lily of the Valley. A naming nod to Lilly Daché - shop girl turned extraordinary milliner!
All-out romance was order of the day for this look: a dress by Claire Mischevani in a matching blossom pink hue to the hat, complete with ultra-feminine collar and button detailing. Earrings by Chérie Jewels nod to the hat’s floral motifs, while an also-pink bag by the late Queen’s bagmaker Launer is an appropriately-classic finish, tagged with a VVR key tassel.
Carmel's Poppy is a Black straw buntal saucer with hand plaited raffia edge and a giant Black poppy with triple biot feather cascades. A naming nod to the great Carmel Snow.
Perched on a beautifully upholstered sofa at Pylewell Park Alice styled Carmel’s Poppy with a H&M x Paco Rabanne dress with earrings by Soru, shoes by Gina with a great bow detail, and bag by Lalage Beaumont.
Vague d'Or (Golden Wave) is an Onion Skin coloured sinamay wave with a shimmering pleated crin edge and metallic Onion Skin bow tassel detail.
Sensing feline sensuality Alice styles V V Chapeaux Vague D’Or with the Leopard print Nairobi dress from Tevlore, a Tusting Clara handbag with a V V Rouleaux Key Tassel, and earrings from Pat’s by Patricia Cobiella.
Pylewell Pink is a beautiful Old Fuchsia sinamay wave detailed with mixed Rose Pink, Old Azalea, Old Fuchsia vintage 1940's flowers and lily of the valley buds.

Alice goes carefree combining a fabulous Lunatica Milano Bouquet skirt, from our neighbours Ella, with the flowers of V V Chapeaux Pylewell Pink.

We were very lucky to shoot this campaign at Pylewell Park, a superb country house wedding and events venue.
