Behind the Collection

 Behind the collection, there’s a lot more than what you see, trims, tweaks, and a few final flourishes to the vintage blooms, the naming nods to the hats and then comes the photoshoot, where everything is brought to life.

Names like Madge Chard and Ernest Gelbard, whose vintage pieces in Annabel's collection have been hand painted, totally unique pieces never to be seen again, or Jacques Griffe, whose sense of elegance still feels very V V.

Sometimes the reference is less direct. Vera Leigh, for example, represents a different kind of influence, one rooted in character, rather than fashion alone. The names aren’t literal descriptions of the hats, but they are part of the process, and add to the story behind the collection.

Behind The Scenes

The best part about creating a new collection is bringing it to life on a fabulous location! With the V V big task of styling 40 looks for the collection, Alice Hare waved her magic wand to create a series of looks that feel effortless and (paired with velvet ribbon and brooches) distinctly V V.

And, as ever, a few well-timed glasses didn’t go amiss, with thanks to Jess Bassett and Candover Brook for the bubbles.
