08/02/2018

Whether you like to think of it as “decorating with a scarf” or “accessorising with a throw”, nothing says it's winter like a blanket scarf to warm up in. Big, cosy, and comfortable, these beauties can be used as a wrap both inside and out.

A hit on the fashion runways and with street stylers, a blanket scarf will ensure you're both in vogue and warm. When you return home from the chilly outdoors, use yours to to add texture and colour to a room - transforming furniture from unremarkable pieces to the stars of a space. Lay it over the end of your sofa or foot of your bed, ready to grab and cosy up in when the mercury drops.

But how do you ensure this must-have winter accessory stands out from the crowd? Well, you can buy a one-of-a-kind design handmade by V V Rouleaux founder Annabel Lewis online here, or you can make your own. Simply head to your favourite fabric shop and choose 160cmx60cm of fabric in a style of your choice, stitch on some fabulous trimmings to add individual flare, and voilà you have a beautiful personalised blanket scarf which you'll adore for years to come.

As you can see below, Annabel had great fun trimming a variety of fabulous tweed fabrics with Ribbons, Gimps, Braids, and Pom Pom Fringe.  Pinch ideas from our inspiration board and tag us in your creations on social media @vvrouleaux. Happy making!
